Band Bio:
Summer was ending in 2005 and a worship band was needed for The Way at RidgeView. Former Tetelestai vocalist Coleman Murray and Ben Michael came together to create a small accustic worship feel for the youth group. Within a week Ben called Steven, a bassist to help back the band for gigs. Ben and Steven had been playing together since junior high but never together as a commited band. Soon after Dustin Harris was signed as a back up vocalist. After a full on practice at Ben's house, the began to look for a drummer. By now school had started and time running out. Ben found drummer Justin Gangel from another youth group. After formation the band clicked seamlessly in rehearsal, getting everyone together for practice was a different story. After several months the band had it's first single "Benediction", The song based from a love letter that Coleman wrote to his girlfriend Dayna. Yet the greatest challenge for the band was finding a name. The usual two problems occured: "Everyone like the name... but it was already taken, or no one liked the name (which it that case it wasn't taken)" said Steven. Finally after being locked in The Green Room for about half an hour, only a few days before chirstmas, the band decided on "Over Jericho". Today the band still plays worship every Tuesday night for The Way but also works on other material for different venues.
By the end of January the band had a range of styles and songs from acoustic love songs to heavier scream songs. As the band tried to define what they were Coleman open something up, "I like being across the board, we are all different and we shouldn't hold any of that back. Our style will define itself in time." With that the band settled to continue writing without borders. These songs will be heard on the full debut in June.
